Hi Deidre!

My questions have pretty much been asked, so I just wanted to say thank you for creating what is in my eyes, the most beautiful, compelling and thrilling character on TV. You've made me cry so many times I've lost count, you've made me smile and laugh through my years of watching Marlena. She's a female superhero (when she's in character), and for that reason alone it's an insane choice to let you go. I was only 10 years old when I fell in love with the characters of Marlena and John, but through the years, I've found that I gravitate more towards Marlena because she has the traits I want to have as a woman. Strenght, compassion, love for her family. She also has flaws, which makes her more endearing and lovable. I've always wanted to be what Marlena is and have the man I love love me the way John loves Marlena. Cheesy, but true.

Guess I have a couple of questions...

1) Is there something you haven't done professionally that you'd really love to do?
2) What are the chances that you'd write a book about your experience with daytime?
3) What is the craziest thing you feel you've ever done?

I'd also like to give a special thank you for your performance last year during the John death storyline. I was losing someone I loved dearly at the time, and watching those scenes helped me deal with those emotions, so thank you for that. I couldn't take my eyes off of you, and you were robbed at the Emmys, clearly. Such a chilling and raw performance, it's unparallelled really.

Thank you seems like too small a word (or well, two words), but I can't really find the words for the stupidity, lack of class and business sense the decision NBC has made is, so I'll just say 'thank you' to you. The press has already said what needed to be said, that firing you from DAYS is like firing Roseanne from Roseanne, and Bill Cosby from "The Cosby Show". You just don't.

I'm looking forward to what you'll do next. I say primetime needs you!

Fan always,
Linn

hi deidre,

you've been my idol since i was 3 years old. i would skip school, get a detention just to watch Marlena in john's arm for a few minutes.
thank you for all the years you have given us. never will you be forgotten and i hope to see you on tv soon!!!

my questions are :

what is your resolution for the year 2009?
How would you like to be remembered now that u have left days?
do you think it's better to love someone or to be loved by someone ?
What lesson have you learned after working on days for so many years?
name one thing that you'd eat your whole life, if you had to chose.

thank you,
lili

From Elsie & Nicole:

What is the most frivolous, uesless thing you have ever purchased?

What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

What’s your favorite thing to cook? We suck at cooking and have endeavored to learn, or at the very least order less takeout. Could you give us the recipe?

Who would you consider to be your best friend?

Did you dress up for Halloween this year? What did you dress up as?

How will you be ringing in the new year?

Do you ever get annoying commercial jingles stuck in your head?

If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 movies would you bring?

Do you have any hidden talents? Or a talent you wish you had?

What’s a question that hasn’t been asked, that you wish someone would ask you? And please answer it, hahaha.

THANK YOU DEIDRE! We're going to miss Marlena and the J&M pairing. Both of us grew up with John and Marlena, and it's a little sad to see something that has been such a part of our growing up, come to an end. We're also going to miss asking you these random and weird questions. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories! :)

Hi Deidre! Thanks so much for doing this!
You know we, the fans, adore you and respect the wonderful job you have done playing Marlena for 30+ years. My question is, do you feel that you have gotten the respect and recognition befitting a soap icon from your peers within the industry (Emmys included)? If not, why do you think that is?

It is extremely disappointing that Days wll no longer be a part of my life, but with no Marlena and John, there is no reason for me to continue watching. I have so many great memories! Thanks to both you and Drake for the dedication you have shown in the portrayal of your characters. And Deidre, you have been incessantly gracious and the epitome of class. I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing what you do next.

Hi Dee

First let me say that I have been a fan for 13 wonderful years. You're one of my biggest idols ever and you are a true inspiration and I am so sad that I won't be seeing you on Days after Jan.23.

I was wondering, do you know what you're going to be doing next - whether tvor movie maybe? I can't wait to see you on my tv again.

Also, have you ever considered writing a biography?

That's all I cna think of right now (a lot of great questions were posted). So good luck in whatever you do next and I will be tuning in.

Love you Dee!

Tiana

Hi Deidre!

First, and most importantly, a humongous Thank You for all the enjoyment and pleasure you've given us as Marlena all these years. The show, and daytime TV, will never be the same without you. Needless to say, both yours and Drake's exit from Days is the most ridiculous and deplorable thing I've ever heard. How the producers or the network think this show will survive without you and is a mystery to us all. Through all this recent turmoil, you've once again proven yourself to be an extremly classy lady, a comsumate professional, and woman to be admired and respected.
I am wondering ....

Does it gives you a sense of satisfaction in knowing that because you are so loved and adored, most fans will no longer be watching the show once you and Drake are gone -as a protest of the actions of NBC and Corday?

And, does knowing how dedicated and loyal the fans are to "John and Marlena" and your amazing chemistry with Drake, do you feel compelled to actively attempt to find another project that you can work on with Drake?

Please know that your fans are eagerly awaiting your next move, and we will follow and support you no matter what you do!

Dear Deidre,

1. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

2. As you know, infertility is lonley and devastating. I, like you, struggled for numerous years trying to have a family. Would you be gracious enough to let me include your thoughts and experiences in the book I am currently writing? This book is meant to provide encouragement, support and hope to women and couples who struggle with infertility and its inherent maze of treatments. Please, when can we chat?

Reproductively challenged,
Julia
