One of the great pleasures of living in Lake Osborne Estates for 40 years was the joy he found in walking the lakefront, feeding the ducks and squirrels, and chatting with passersby. During his early travels, he developed a passion for stamp and coin collecting which brought the world to his fingertips. For the majority of his life, he held local fame as a baritone in a 'barber shop' quartet. It was a talent he happily displayed during his network singing debut on NBC's family series "Our House".

Although he suffered with a degree of memory loss during his later years, he had utter clarity of every inch of the Westbrook Connecticut shoreline (it was the only place his family could count on him never getting lost). He never tired of guiding friends and family through the beloved neighborhood.
